Services for Elizabeth Skipper Boyd, 84, of Natchez, who died Thursday, March 29, 2007, at her residence, will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Grove AME Church with the Rev. James Lee officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Mrs. Boyd was born Dec. 31, 1922, in Adams County, the daughter of Alice Scott and William and Ruth Skipper. She was baptized in 1946 and united with Fatherland Baptist Church. She served as an usher and later became a member of the mother’s board.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Blanton Williams; and maternal grandparents, Fred and Narcissy Scott.

Survivors include her husband, John Boyd of Natchez; her daughter, Hester Pinder and husband, Richard, of Chicago; granddaughter, Heather Pinder of Charles City, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Jadon and Jordan; adopted sister, Virginia Rounds; godbrother, Robert Blanton; brother-in-law, Charlie Boyd; godchildren, Gloria Betton, Don Gordon and Jennifer Lewis; devoted cousins, Ruby Campbell and Hollis Davis; and a number of relatives and friends.
