NATCHEZ — Independent Oil and Coal has sold its six convenience stores in the Natchez area.

Independent Oil Owner Charles Zuccaro confirmed Friday the stores had been sold this week, but said he could not discuss it further at this time.

More information will be available in approximately 60 days, he said.

The sale follows a move in March 2012 in which the company sold its wholesale fuel business to Delta Fuels, though they continued to operate the stores without the bulk business.

Independent Oil and Coal has operated in Natchez with an office on Old D’Evereux Street since 1919.
