Boys Prep Roundup: ACCS crushes WCCA with 38-point scoring quarter

WOODVILLE — The Adams County Christian School Rebels went on a tear in the second quarter, scoring 38 points on their way to a 68-24 win against the Wilkinson County Christian Academy Rams Thursday night.
As to what led ACCS to score so many points in the second quarter, Rebels head coach Richy Spears said, “The pressure got to them. We kept rotating fresh people in, and we just finally got to them.”
The Rebels ended up outscoring the Rams 38-5 in that quarter for a commanding 56-16 halftime lead. ACCS was led by Brandon Brooks with 12 points and Tyler Stockstill with 10 points.
Jalen Washington led WCCA with 10 points and Dra’ Tolliver had six points.
ACCS (8-1) takes on Amite School Center at 7:30 p.m. today in its MAIS District 5-AA opener.
WCCA plays host to Cenla Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. today.
Monterey 59, Kilbourne 42
HARRISONBURG — The Monterey Wolves advanced to the semifinals of the Harrisonburg Tournament after defeating the Kilbourne Hawks 59-42 in a first-round game Thursday night.
No other information on the game was available at press time.
Monterey (10-2) will take on the winner of today’s game between Block at Forest at 3:15 p.m. Saturday.
