NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Betty Jean Johnson Lofton, 76, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, at her residence, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church of God of Prophecy on Morgantown Road in Natchez.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Saturday at the church.
Lofton was born Nov. 19, 1937, the daughter of William Alexander and Elvia Ophelia Smith Johnson.
Lofton donated her body to science through Genesis Legacy in Memphis, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Melanie Denise Bateman, two sisters, Earline Tecumseh and Gearline Johnson; four brothers, Quentin Lee Johnson, John Mark Johnson, Calvin Johnson and Shelton Lee Johnson.
Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years, Robert C. Lofton; two daughters, Cynthia Hulsey, and Linda Bland and husband, Jodie Lee; grandchildren, Michael Hulsey, Crystal Strouder and husband, John, Renee Smith and husband, Nick, and Pamala Hulsey; four great-granddaughters, four great-grandsons; three sisters, Dorothy Reid, Annette Barnett and husband, Delbert, and Delores Bland and husband, Gillis; three brothers, Paul Johnson and wife, Cricket, Melvin Johnson and wife, Betty, and Lewis Johnson and wife, Patsy; one brother-in-law, David Lofton and wife, Margaret; one sister-in-law, Louise Comeaux and husband, Wille; one sister-in-law, Lennie Lofton; and a very, very special friend, Amy Fulton.
