Services for the Rev. Cleveland Brown Jr., 75, of Ferriday, who died Monday, April 9, 2007, at Heritage Manor Health and Rehab Center, in Ferriday, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Mark Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee A. Martin officiating.
Burial will follow at Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home, Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Rev. Brown was born April 28, 1931, in Ferriday, the son of Cleveland and Vicey Lively Brown. He was a retired carpenter and Baptist minister.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Brown; daughters, Patricia Brown, Doretha Brown, Lucille Brown, Ethel Brown, Wanda Brown, and Gloria Hayes.
Survivors include his wife, Frankie Skipper Brown of Ferriday; his sons, Lem C. Brown and Cleveland Brown III, both of Washington D.C., Anthony Brown of Sandusky, Ohio and Fredrick Brown and wife, Debra, of Fayette; daughters, Rosie Anderson of Douglas, Ga., Juanita Martin and husband, the Rev. Lee A. Martin, Valerie Henderson and husband, Van, Marilyn Brown, all of Ferriday, Joyce Wilson and husband, Michael, Katherine Jackson and husband, Roscoe, Joyce Mackall and husband, Darryl, all of Washington, D. C., Sharonda Thomas and husband, Johnny, of Houston, Texas; brothers, Willie Brown and wife, Blanche, of Los Angeles, Calif., Roosevelt Brown and wife, Emma, of Las Vegas, Nev. and Edward Brown and wife, Annie, of Waterproof; sisters, Canary Brown and Irma Walker and husband, Thomas, of Sacramento, Calif., Velma Clark of Idaho, Neb., Joanna Redvine and husband, Charles, of Ferriday and Louise Jefferson of Natchitoches; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and godchild, Crystal Kelly of Ferriday.
