Butch and Wanda Hosea of Ferriday announce the engagement of their daughter, Rivers Hosea to Thomas Ater, son of Al and Susie Ater of Ferriday.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Huntington School in Ferriday. She is employed by Miss-Lou Eye Care in Natchez.

She is the granddaughter of Wayne and Faye Holmes of Natchez and Claude and Alice Hosea of Delhi, La.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, Ga. He is a farmer and partner in Lakeland Planting Company in Concordia Parish.

He is the grandson of Eugene and Ann Thompson of Vidalia and the late Donald and LaVonne Ater of Ferriday.

The wedding will be 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at Jefferson Street United Methodist Church in Natchez.

A reception will follow at the Carriage House. Family and friends are invited.
