Services for John William Dayton, 54, of Bossier City, formerly of Vidalia, who died Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at Promise Hospital, in Shreveport, will be 3 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home, in Vidalia, with Dr. Ralph Webber officiating.
Burial will follow at Harrisonburg Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home, Vidalia.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mr. Dayton was born Dec. 3, 1952, in Natchez, the son of Barry “Rip” Dayton and Beverly Duck Dayton. He was an engineer with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Dayton, of Bossier City; daughter, Tiana Beard and husband, Kevin, of Clinton; sons, Larry Dayton and Joshua Dayton, both of Bossier City and Jonathan Dayton and wife, Amber, of Whitehouse, Texas; parents, Barry “Rip” and Beverly Dayton of Vidalia; grandchildren, Brittany, Hayden and Jonathan Beard, Tyler, Chance, Kaitlin and Emma Dayton; brothers, Barry Dayton of Centreville, La. and David Dayton of Bastrop.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
