NATCHEZ — Funeral services for Harold Lloyd Gardner, 89, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Leon Wallace and the Rev. Jeff Brewer officiating.

Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Crosby under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Gardner was born June 10, 1924, in Bude, the son of William Percy Gardner and Callie Huff Gardner.

He was a Navy Seebee in World War II and a retiree from International Paper Mill. His favorite pastimes included, fishing, tending to his garden and pulling for his favorite teams, Ole Miss and the Chicago Cubs. He enjoyed being with his family and his four daughters who were the loves of his life. He loved the American flag and what it stood for.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen Beatty Gardner; one brother, Charlie Gardner and one sister, Eileen Beach.

Survivors include four daughters, Mary Douglas, Eva Joyce Isbell, Chareleane Keller and Dianne Kirby and husband, Kent, all of Natchez; four grandchildren, Doug Johnson and wife, Shannon, of Mckinney, Texas, Trey Isbell and wife, Crystal, Matt Isbell and Callie Godfrey and husband, Kolby, all of Natchez; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Gardner and Bob Gardner and wife, Erma, both of Vicksburg.

Pallbearers will be Doug Johnson, Trey Isbell, Matt Isbell, Kolby Godfrey, Don Gardner, Murray Warnock and Sam Kirby.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Home for Heroes. 9 Janice Circle, Natchez, Miss. 39120.
