FERRIDAY— Funeral services for Larry Scott, 58, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mercy Seat Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Schiele officiating.
Burial will follow in Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Scott was born on Sept. 20, 1955, in New Orleans, the son of Oscar and Johnnie Williams Scott.
He was a baptist farmer.
Scott was preceded in death by his father; brother, Oscar Scott III, two sisters, Geraldine Bell and Juanita Dickerson; and niece, Pamela Scott.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Thompson Scott; his mother; four daughters, Rosyln Scott, Stephanie Scott, Kimberly Scott, all of Ferriday, and Salone Frazier, of Dallas; two brothers, Ernest Scott and wife, Doris, and Lavon Scott and wife, Arlene, all of Ferriday; three sisters, Erma Scott of Elmont, N.Y., Diane Saul and husband, William, of Vidalia, and Wanda Carter and husband, Victor, of Ferriday; 12 grandchildren, four of which he raised as his own, LaGacy, Jerrius, Larry and LeAndre “Blue” Scott; aunt, Annie McKinney, of Ferriday; a god daughter, Nicole Williams of Natchez; two sisters-in-law, Gail Lee of Ferriday and Belinda Thompson of Macon, Ga.; one brother-in-law, Timothy Thompson and wife, Valerie, of Macon, Ga. and a number of nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives.
