FERRIDAY — Services for Eloise Thompson, 90, of Ferriday, who died Friday, June 29, 2007, at West Jefferson Medical Center, in Marrero, La., will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at New Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Birdon officiating.
Burial will follow at Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home, Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 10:15 until service time Thursday at the church.
Mrs. Thompson was born Nov. 12, 1916, in Vidalia, the daughter of William and Emma Willis Moore. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Thompson was the oldest member of New Morning Star Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Thompson; her parents; a son, William Thompson; sisters, Gladys Lusk and Willie Mae Richardson.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary L. Givens of Ferriday, Rosa Warner and her husband, Eddie, of Vidalia and Faye T. Bazley and husband, Rodney, of Harvey; uncle, Elijah Willis of Ferriday; a special first cousin, Clarence Hogan Sr. of Brooklyn, N.Y.; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
