MEADVILLE — Funeral services for Mr. Glen Lee, 77, of Eddiceton, who died after a lengthy illness on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013 peacefully at the Meadville Convalescent Home, was at 2 p.m. Monday at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Harold Anderson, the Rev. Webb Armstrong and the Rev. Dr. Eddie Hamilton officiating.
Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. to noon Monday at Franklin Funeral Home. Visitation also continued from 1 p.m. until time of services Monday at New Hope Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in Midway Cemetery in Meadville under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.
Mr. Lee was born Aug. 24, 1936, in Amite County, to Albert and Iris Martin Lee. He joined the Mississippi National Guard at an early age and served in the guard for eight years. He worked for Johns Manville in Natchez, International Paper Container Division in Springhill, La., and in the oilfield for several years. He was retired from Herring Gas Company, where he worked as a propane gas salesman for over 34 years. He was a member of Bude First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Bobby Gerald Lee.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Peggy Seale Lee; one daughter, Sheila Lee Ryals of Baton Rouge; one granddaughter, Jessica Bass Grice and husband Jason of Lucien; one brother, Gene Lee and wife Evelyn of Meadville; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Lee of Tupelo; two nieces, Angela Lee of Bude and Lorinda Lee of New York City; and a number of friends.
