LAUREL — Services for Helen Samantha Adams Johnson, 85, of West Monroe, who died Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center, in West Monroe, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Memory Chapel with the Rev. Richard Cullum officiating.
Burial will follow at Ellisville Cemetery, in Ellisville, under the direction of Memory Chapel, Laurel.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home, Ferriday.
Mrs. Johnson was born Aug. 22, 1921, in Jones County. She was a long time resident of Ferriday. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church and also a member of the Women of the Moose in Natchez.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Johnson; son, Lavell Johnson; her parents; a grandson, Michael Johnson; a brother; and a sister.
Survivors include her daughter, Ella Louise Pardue of Sharron; sons, Roy Johnson and wife, Connie, of Harker Heights, Texas and Earnest Johnson of Hattiesburg; sisters, Anna Lavada Bland of West Monroe and Cecil Buckley of Newton, and Eva Mae Ruffin and husband, Robert, of Ellisville; brothers, Jerry Adams and wife, Shirley, of Ellisville and James Adams and wife, Sara, of North Carolina; sister-in-law, Doris Adams of Panama City, Fla.; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Adams Jr., Robbie Ruffin, Danny Hamm, Jack Taylor, Tommy Bland, Robert Ruffin and Shawn Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie White, Chris Vaughn, Tommy Massey and Dr. Barry Tillman.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sycamore Baptist Church.
