WATERPROOF — Services for Alberta Nicols Ammons Berry, 77, of Waterproof, who died Sunday, July 8, 2007, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be 10 a.m. today at Wesley Chapel Methodist Church with the Rev. Ray Owens officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home, Ferriday.

Mrs. Berry was born Dec. 8, 1929, in Greenville, the daughter of Robert Lee Ammons and Alberta Nicols Ammons. She was a devoted wife and mother. Mrs. Berry was an accomplished pianist and bridge player and a member of the Daughters of the Revolution for 53 years.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frederick Charles Berger and Edward Yandle Berry; her parents; a sister, Sara Ammons Shelby; and brother, George Nicols Ammons.

Survivors include a son, Charles Frederick Berger of Plano, Texas; daughters, Alberta Berger Collins of Boylston, Mass. and Adele Berger Nicols of Warren, Vt.; stepdaughters, Elizabeth Berger of Plano, Texas and Katherine Ann Brewton of Winnfield; stepsons, Edward Y. Berry of Abbeville, Ala. and Douglas C. Berry of Jackson; sisters, Ophelia A. Thompson of Tallulah and Betty A. Brown of Jackson; brother, Robert Lee Ammons of Shreveport; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Rod Daggett, Truman Goldman, Ben Brown, Billy Guthrie, Michael Brewton and Cole Berry.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wesley Chapel Methodist Church.
