FERRIDAY — Ferriday High School will host its 10th annual Veterans Day program at 10 a.m. Friday in honor of area veterans, their families and spouses of deceased veterans. The event is open to the public.
The program begins at 10 a.m. in the school gymnasium. A reception with refreshments will be hosted for veterans, their families and guests after the program.
The program begins with a photo slideshow of local veterans and the posting of the Colors by the V.F.W. Post 9573 of Natchez.
The lineup will also include performances by musician Sylvia Ritchie, the FHS Glee Club Choir and students from Ferriday High’s gifted music department. This year’s keynote speaker is Joyce Ivory Russ, a veteran who is principal of Ferriday Upper Elementary School.
Tensas Bank will wrap up the activities with a drawing for an encased American flag.
