Bobby Rush

VIDALIA — Graveside service for Bobby Rush, 72, of Vidalia, who died Thursday, July 19, 2007, at his residence, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Highland Park Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Sharp Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home of Ferriday.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Rush was born July 27, 1934, in Harrisonburg.
He worked in the oilfield all of his working life.
Mr. Rush was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Rush; one son, Claude David Rush; parents, Luther and Avis Rush; brothers, Jim and Jerry Rush.
Survivors include two daughters, Melissa Puckett and Charles Adams of Vidalia, Kim Rush Golmon and husband, James of Ridgecrest; son, Brian Rush and wife, Rachel of Cash Bayou, La.; sister, Mary Rush Wallace and husband, Bubba of Winnsboro and son, Kristopher; mother-in-law, Betty Harrington of Clayton; grandsons, Jim Golmon and wife, Shelly of Vidalia, Troy Rush and wife, Ashley of Mandeville, Brian Rush Jr. of Jonesville, Jeffery Puckett of Gulfport, James Keene and Joshua Rush of Cash Bayou; granddaughters, Jennifer Rush Stelly of Vidalia and Heather Keene of Cash Bayou; great grandchildren, Julia, Nicholas, Kelli, Trey, Brian and Brody; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jeffery Puckett, Troy Rush, Brian Rush Jr., James Keene, Jim Golmon, Kristopher Wallace and Shorty Metcalf.
Honorary pallbearers will be Louis Rush, Charlie, Kippy, Ronnie and Bill Blancy, Bill Burnsed and Joe Fortunato.
