CLINTON — Services for Herbert Edward “Cotton Williams, 84, who died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at home surrounded by his loving family, were Sunday at the chapel of Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton.
Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Natchez.
Mr. Cotton was born Feb. 28, 1929, the son of Hazel and Earl Williams of Thaxton.
He retired from Ergon after 44 years of service, but continued to work in the field of construction until 2012. His hobbies included antique cars, watching NASCAR racing and spending time at the Bold home placeo in Thaxton. Mr. Cotton was a longtime member of Morrison Heights Baptist Church in Clinton. He was also a member of the Antique Vehicle Club of Mississippi.
Mr. Cotton was preceded in death by his parents and brother Phillip David Williams.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Dot Williams; two sons, Mickey Williams and wife, Judi, of Byram and Jerry Williams and wife, Lucy, of Natchez; one daughter, Martha Hopper of Clinton; seven granddaughters; 17 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Bobby Jo Williams and wife, Nell of Cherokee, Ala., and Johnny Williams of Terry.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Benevolence Fund at Morrison Heights Baptist Church at 3000 Hampstead Blvd., Clinton, MS, 39056.
