BRITTNEY LOHMILLER / THE NATCHEZ DEMOCRAT — Eliana Diesen, 10, from left, Haleigh Clanton, 11, and Maria Verucchi, 9, stretch before participating in the second-annual Ellis Laine Malone Foundation 5K fun run Saturday morning in Vidalia. More than 100 walkers and runners helped raise money for Ellis Laine Malone’s medical costs. Malone was born with Apert Syndrome, which results in craniofacial abnormalities, among other things. The Ellis Laine Malone Foundation was established to keep Ellis on schedule with her surgeries and doctor’s appointments.
