NATCHEZ — The severe weather kept many of the ghouls and goblins inside Halloween night, but trick-or-treating events are scheduled to continue this evening in Natchez and Vidalia.
A tornado watch, heavy rains and strong winds caused several Halloween events to be postponed Thursday, but clear skies are forecast for a majority of this evening.
The annual Trick or Treat for Little Feet Halloween event will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. today in downtown Natchez.
Merchants on Main, Commerce, Pearl and Franklin streets will be open to hand out candy and celebrate Halloween.
The event is sponsored by Natchez downtown merchants and the Natchez Downtown Development Association and is free and open to the public.
The Natchez Mall will also host trick-or-treaters from 5 to 6:30 p.m. today.
There are no certain times throughout the City of Natchez to trick-or-treat.
Residents in the City of Vidalia are asked to trick-or-treat from 6 to 9 p.m. today in neighborhoods throughout the city.
Residents living outside the city limits are asked to trick-or-treat from 5 to 9 p.m.
The Vidalia Police Department and Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office will have extra patrols out during those hours.
