NATCHEZ — The location of the Richard Wright Symposium Saturday has been moved from Alcorn State University’s Natchez campus to the Natchez Museum of African American History and Culture, 301 Main St.
The play “Was It Worth It?” will be performed with local talent, presented in a “read-through” style beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Alcorn State University’s Business School in Natchez.
The play, co-authored by members of the Mississippi Writers Guild, is a thought-provoking work that explores the souls of five great Mississippi authors.
“Was It Worth It?” features an imaginary conversation among authors William Faulkner, played by attorney Rusty Jenkins; Richard Wright, played by playwright Robert Ray; Eudora Welty, played by attorney Eileen Maher; Tennessee Williams, played by Judge Forest “Al” Johnson and Muna Lee, played by Christine Brinegar.
The play is one of the features of a daylong symposium “Richard Wright: His Life and Legacy.”
Pre-registration is $10 for the symposium and ends today.
Registration Saturday is $15.
Admission to the play is $10 for those not attending the symposium.
