NATCHEZ — The Cock of the Walk restaurant will close Sunday in order to move its operations to a new location.

Owner Patricia Clark said she hoped the restaurant would be open at its new location by mid-November.

Clark declined to say to where the Cock of the Walk is moving because she has not officially signed a lease. Clark did say the restaurant would stay in Natchez.

“(The new location is) a really wonderful location,” she said.

The Cock of the Walk and The Old South Trading Post were forced to relocate from the city-owned depot on Broadway Street so the city could renovate the building.

The city is renovating the depot as part of a project to relocate the Natchez Farmers Market to the bluff and develop the depot into office and meeting space and a product-development facility.

The city is partnering with Alcorn State and Mississippi State universities for the project.
