NATCHEZ — Services for Louvenia Thomas Strickland Jones, 48, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007, at her residence, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Greater St. James Baptist Church, Lower Woodville Road, with the Rev. James Brooks officiating.
Mrs. Jones was born Dec. 14, 1958, in Natchez, the daughter of Pless Thomas and Artimease D. Thomas. She was a 1977 graduate of South Natchez High School and attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College and Delta Community College. She was a certified nursing assistant. Mrs. Jones was a member of Greater St. James Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jessica C. Houston; father, Pless Thomas; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Mary Dobbins; and paternal grandfather, the Rev. Charlie Joe Thomas.
Survivors include her loyal and devoted husband, Calvin Jones; her mother, Artimease D. Thomas; daughters, Stephanie Y. Thomas, Danyelle M. Strickland and Justice M. Thomas, all of Natchez; sons, Damien L. Strickland of Natchez and Pless D. Strickland Sr. of Coles; godson, Cedric Knight of Natchez; grandchildren, Torrance A. Allen Jr., Pless D. Strickland Jr., Ka’Shay J. Fleming and Kaitlyn A. Terrell, all of Natchez; sister, Meg Brown and husband, Robert, of Natchez; sister-in-law, Robin Perryman of Natchez; godbrother, Pless Albert Hicks of Houston, Texas; paternal grandmother, Evangelist Beulah Brady; her only niece, Cagney S. Brown; a loyal friend, Patricia Good; five aunts; five uncles; and a host of relatives, friends and godbabies.
Pallbearers will be Patricia Good, Diane Davis, Shelia Woods, Teresa Grinnell, Myrtis Jackson, all of Natchez and Juanita Davis of Houston.
