FERRIDAY – Services for Jonathan Dewayne Washington, 36, of Atlanta, formerly of Ferriday, who died Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mercy Seat Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Andrew Martin officiating.

Burial will follow at Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Washington was born March 12, 1971, in Ferriday, the son of Ike Washington Jr. and Virginia Henderson Washington. He was employed as a parole officer for the State of Georgia. Mr. Washington was a graduate of Ferriday High School and Grambling State University.

Survivors include his parents, Ike and Virginia “Red” Washington of Ferriday; brothers, Melvin Washington and wife, Lisa, of Sacramento, Don Washington and Michael Washington, both of Ferriday and Ike Washington III and wife, Lena, of Vicksburg; sisters, Sandra Green and husband, Donald, of Fairfield, Texas and Donna Washington of Ferriday; a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
