NATCHEZ – Services for Richard Curtis, 51, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at noon Friday at Zion Flower Baptist Church with the Rev. John Scott Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at Pry’s Temple Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Mr. Curtis was born Sept. 30, 1956, in Adams County, the son of Rosie Curtis White, Evalene Washington Curtis and Richard Curtis. He was a graduate of Delta State University with a bachelor’s degree in physical education. He was employed with Grand Gulf Nuclear Station. Mr. Curtis was a Baptist and a member of Pry’s Temple Baptist Church.
Survivors include his devoted and loving wife, Deatric Adams Curtis; children, Richaye Curtis, Richarde Curtis and Angela Brady, all of Natchez; his parents, Rosie Curtis White of Natchez, Evalene Curtis of Chicago and Richard Curtis and Brenda Gullage, of Ferriday; grandmother, Lottie Washington, of Chicago; mother-in-law, A. Augustine Adams, of Natchez; siblings, Jesse Washington, of Chicago, Roosevelt Curtis and wife, Angela, Rose Curtis and Helen Curtis, all of St. Paul Minn., Jimmy Miles and Beulah Johnson, of New Orleans, Janice Henderson, of Natchez, Gloria Hinkston, Adrian Gullage, Lynette Gullage, Kellie Gullage, Trenese Gullage, Daylon Gullage and Tyona Gullage, all of Ferriday; grandchildren, Caleb Curtis, Jakayla Jefferson, Jakarri Jones, Jakobe Jones, all of Natchez; special sisters-in-law, Jacqueline Adams, Beverly Adams and Lenifer Adams, all of Natchez; and special niece and nephew, Shabilla Adams and Spencer Adams.
His brilliant smile will also be sorely missed by a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, co-workers and classmates.
