FERRIDAY – Services for Freddrick Vincent “Freddie” Martello, 75, of Ferriday, who died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at Riverland Medical Center, in Ferriday, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Gray officiating.
Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Martello was born July 10, 1932, in West Monroe, the son of Vincent Martello and Marie Martello Mitchell. He was the owner and operator of Martello Trucking. Mr. Martello was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clayton. Freddie proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Brocato Martello of Ferriday; daughters, Tonya Martello Smith and husband, Pat, both of Bastrop, Lydia Martello Ellett, of Leland, Ann Martello Chapman and husband, Michael, both of West Monroe and Donna Deukmijian of California; son, Vince Martello and wife, Angela, both of West Monroe; sisters, Margaret Biscotto of Dallas and Helen Gill of Natchez; grandchildren, Ashley Ardoin, Jamie Chapman, Tom Ellett, Sara Ellett, Allen Chapman and Jasie Martello; and great-grandson, Matthew Joseph Ardoin.
Pallbearers will be David Tate, Pat Smith, Richard Matthews, Michael Chapman, Allen Chapman, Tom Ellett, Johnny Nunnery and David Nunnery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. O’Brian, Dr. Moak, Dr. Gibson, Roger Carter, William Wheat and Walter Creed.
