FERRIDAY – Services for Eddie Lee Carter Sr., 51, of Clayton, who died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, at Veterans Administration Medical Center, in Alexandria, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Harvest Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Lewis officiating.

Burial will follow at Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Carter was born March 22, 1956, in Ferriday, the son of Leslie Sr. and Essie Carter. He was employed as a custodian. Mr. Carter served in the U.S. Army during the Gulf War.

He was preceded in death by his father; and brother, Chester Carter.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Hall Carter of Clayton; mother and stepfather, Essie Lewis and husband, Robert, both of Ferriday; son, Eddie Carter Jr. of Houston; stepdaughters, Wanda Clark and husband, Matthew, both of Ferriday and Regina Carter and husband, Tony, both of Chesapeake, Va.; brothers, Leslie Carter Jr. and Lavon Carter, both of Ferriday and Anthony Holmes of Waterproof; sisters, Pinkey Thomas and Betty J. Carter, both of Ferriday; and 12 grandchildren.
