Oscar Tillery

WOODVILLE — Services for Oscar Tillery, 85, of Woodville, who died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Evening Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Luther Bonds officiating.

Burial will follow at Cedar Rest Cemetery No. 2, in Woodville, under the direction of Williams and Williams Funeral Home.

Mr. Tillery was born May 4, 1922, in Wilkinson County, the son of Charlie and Ophelia Tillery. He was self-employed as a logger and was also formerly employed by Wilkinson County.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo Tillery.

Survivors include his daughters, Mary Ferguson and husband, Henry Jr., both of Woodville and Barbara Burks and husband, Allen Jr., both of Lorman; sons, James Tillery and wife, Delores, both of Memphis and Oscar Tillery Jr. and wife, Rosie, both of Woodville; sisters, Wilma Mazique and Blanch Reed, both of Weather Font, Texas and Julia Mae Winding of Middle Town, Ohio; brothers, Elbert Winding of Natchez and Otis James Winding of New Orleans; 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
