FERRIDAY – Masonic services for Joel Corbett Brewer, 87, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at Riverland Medical Center, in Ferriday, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Young’s Funeral Home.
Masonic graveside services will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Brewer was born May 28, 1920, in Jayess, the son of Joel Thomas Brewer and Ella Barnett Brewer. He retired as a machinist from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Chicago No. 437. Mr. Brewer served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Marie Brewer, Maxine Wozniak and Irene Melvy Nail; and brothers, Charles brewer and Toxie Ray Brewer.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Brewer of Ferriday; son, Kenneth Brewer and wife, Dana, both of Texas; sister, Aline Coker of California; granddaughter, Lindsey Danielle Brewer; and grandson, Seth Wayne Brewer.
Pallbearers will be the members of the Masonic Lodge.
