JONESVILLE — Services for Paul “Porter” Beatty, 52, of Jonesville, who died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, in Jonesville, will be at 10 a.m. today at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Relaford officiating.

Burial will follow at Calhoun Cemetery in Clayton under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home of Jonesville.

Mr. Beatty was born July 10, 1955, in Baton Rouge.

He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War Mr. Beatty was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Lavon Beatty and a brother, Tommy Beatty.

Survivors include his mother, Margie Kirkland Porter of Jonesville; three brothers, Edward Charles Porter of Jonesville, Timmy Beatty and his wife, Terri, both of Vidalia and Jerry Wayne Beatty and his wife, Shannon, both of Ferriday; two sisters, Lori White and her husband Dalton and Carolyn Smith and her husband, Curtis, all of Jonesville.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Richey, Marc McFall, Kirk Thompson, Benny Milligan, David Carpenter and Cecil Barrett.

Honorary pallbearers will be Curtis Smith, Derek Beatty, John Riley Gant, Ryan Gant and Jeffrey Nichols.
