Jean Rountree

VIDALIA- Services for Jean Lois Marron Rountree, 86, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. today at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with the Revs. Paul Kunnumpuram and George Pookkattu officiating.
Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time today at the church.
Mrs. Rountree was born June 25, 1921, in Waterproof, the daughter of Hattie Rucker Marron and John Edward Marron. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She served for many years on the alter and flower guilds. She was also a member of the Vidalia and Pilgrimage Garden Clubs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Jeanne Wood; and sisters, Cecil Herron and Dorothy Wampold.
Survivors include, her beloved husband of 65 years, Percy Langworthy Rountree; brother, Harold Alman Marron and wife, Bess; son, David Lyle Rountree and wife, Sarabeth, all of Vidalia; grandchildren, Lyle Rountree of Dallas, Suzannah and Ben Green, both of Nashville, Tenn., Will and Kate Rountree, both of New Iberia, La., Dix Wood of Baton Rouge and Marron and Josh Parsons, both of Gibson City, Ill.; great-grandchildren, Elle Rountree, Jeanne Wood, Rucker, Hattie and Gaines Parsons; niece and nephews, Mary Ann and Walter Monsour, Milford Wampold, Jr., Dr. Mervin Wampold, Dr. Richard Wampold, all of Baton Rouge, and Sam D. Pierce of Ferriday; and special caretakers, Thelma January and Hazel Washington.
The family is very grateful to her doctors, Dr. Barry F. Tillman and Dr. Randy Tillman.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, godson and great-nephew, Jordan Monsour.
Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Falkenheiner, Logan Sewell, Wilton Dale, Johnny Dale, Richard Campbell, Joe Schiele, Fernie Wood, Bill McDonough and Charles Chauvin.
