NATCHEZ – Services for Tommy R. Smith, 73, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Jason Cole officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Smith was born Dec. 28, 1933, in Adams County, the son of Willie Edward Smith and Maude Belle Clark Smith. He retired after 47 years with International Paper Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Shelby Edward Smith and Vernon Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Smith of Natchez; sons, Ralph Smith and wife, Debi, both of Lake St. John and Bobby Smith and wife, Charlotte, both of Natchez; grandchildren, Ginger Leigh Smith and husband, Chris Coburn, both of Port Neches, Texas, Kristina Lynn Johnson and husband, Riley, both of Beaumont, Texas, Dilou Lynnette Smith of Natchez and Craig Lanehart and wife, Jennifer, both of Woodville; great-grandchildren, Kaleb Erwin, Nicholas Lanehart, Cane Lanehart and Jared Lanehart; sisters Nannie Belle Dickerson and Ruby Jamison, both of Natchez; and brother, Willie Alfred Smith of Natchez.
Pallbearers will be Keith Smith, Frank Mullins, C.P. Cavin, Billy Ray Mullins, Buster Jamison and Dale Jamison.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ted McCarstle, Bobby Hall, Riley Temple, Charlie Martin, Conner Robson, Joe Howell, Sam Butler, Earl Wheeler, Ricky Evans, Mickey Finn and all his buddies from International Paper Company.
