JACKSON – Services for Stella Mathilde Harrigill, 83, of Jackson, who died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007, at Pleasant Hills Community Living Center, in Jackson, will be at noon Saturday at Chancellor Funeral Home Chapel, in Byram.
Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. at Woodyear, Stampley, Fulton Cemetery, near Roxie, under the direction of Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Harrigill was raised at Union Church, in Jefferson County, before moving to Stanton in the 1940s. She was the daughter of George Bernard and Stella Mae Montgomery Nevels. She lived in Jackson since 1944 and was a lifelong homemaker. She was a member of Stanton Baptist Church in Natchez. Mrs. Harrigill was a pianist at Stanton Baptist Church for many years. She made a profession of faith in Christ at an early age. She was a loving and gentle lady and very much loved and admired by her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert Nesbit Harrigill; son, Albert Norris Harrigill; brother, George Norris Nevels; and sister, Marie Nevels Dykes.
Survivors include her son, George Harrigill and wife, Marcia, both of Clinton; seven grandchildren, Dawn Goff of Brandon, Deirdre Triggs and Katie Hanley, both of Gulfport, Gay Couey of Pearl, Scott Harrigill and Amanda Kimbrell, both of Clinton, and Jenni Harrigill of Tampa, Fla.; and 11 great-grandchildren.
