NATCHEZ—Funeral services for Brenda Wallace Deer, 65, of Natchez, who died Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at her residence, will be at 3 p.m. today at Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Ralph Webber officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will 1 p.m. today until time of service at the church.
Mrs. Deer was born Jan. 4, 1948, in Pike County, the daughter of Louis Howell Wallace and Bernice Allred Wallace. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, and was a member of the Women on Mission. She had a great passion for packing shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jerry Wallace.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Henry Deer of Natchez; two sons, Bill Deer and wife, Emily, of Petal and Walley Deer and wife, Rachel, of Flowood; one sister, Helen Wiley Robbins and husband, Arthur, of Westlake, La.; one brother, Bob Wallace and wife, Judy, of Milton, Fla.; five grandchildren, Mackenzie Burley of Norton, New Brunswick, Canada, Sadie Deer of Flowood, Jase, Rob, and Abigail Deer of Petal; her beloved dog, Gabby; and a special friend, Mavis Furr.
Pallbearers will be Randy Wall, Greg Greer, Derek Flippen, Jeremy Flippen, Jonathan Linton, and Adam Blackwell.
