NATCHEZ — A new grocery store will be opening in Natchez, Mayor Butch Brown said.
Save A Lot Grocery will open a location in the former Walmart in Magnolia Mall, and will create 100 jobs, Brown said during Tuesday’s meeting of the Natchez Board of Aldermen.
Exterior work at Magnolia Mall has been going on for several weeks.
Save A Lot is a discount grocery chain headquartered in Earth City, Mo., and has approximately 1,250 stores nationwide. Save A Lot is a subsidiary of SuperValu.
The mayor also said a new department store unrelated to the Save A Lot store would be opening in Natchez soon, which is expected to create 45 jobs.
