It’s that time again and Cox Hill is ready to get its “scare” on.

The 11th annual Cox Hill Fall Festival and Haunted Trail will be from 7 p.m. until this Friday and Saturday and Oct. 30 and 31.

We will have all kinds of games and fun for the kids along with food and entertainment by DJ Nate-Dog. We will of course have the haunted trail, but it will be a little different this year.

This year you will have to brave the darkness and walk through it. There will be someone to guide you in the direction you need to go from the beginning to the end. You will however need to be aware of what maybe lurking in the darkness!

You never know what will jump out at you or what will be slowly walking behind you. We will offer assistance for those who cannot walk the trail because of medical reasons or for those who just simply can’t.

We will still have most of your favorite characters participating in each scene, and there are a few that will be just lit up for looks.

The admission to the festival is $7 and this also includes the Haunted Trail.

As you know, we always do this event as a benefit. This year the festival will help benefit Natchez native Brian Warren. Brian is the son of Ricky and Janet Warren. Brian was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis almost five years ago. MS is an acute-disease that affects the brain and spinal cord. There is no cure for MS. There is only MS therapy and treatment to slow down the progression of the disease.

Brian was a former police officer with NPD and then had to withdraw from that position to dispatcher and then soon had to take a permanent medical leave of absence due to the progression of his disease.

Brian has been such a trooper with this disease and he and his wife Destiny along with their 2-year-old son Brent, are determined to beat this disease.

Because he is not able to work, he has had to apply for disability benefits to help support his family.

We here at Cox Hill are so honored that we will be able to help Brian and his family. We want to offer our support to this family and invite you to do the same.

We know that God has a very special plan for Brian and his family. So come out to Cox Hill on Springfield Road, just off of Liberty Road and get scared.

Crystal Warren is an organizer of the Cox Hill Fall Festival.
