NATCHEZ – Services for Marie A. Kossum, 84, who died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Dianne Woodall officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kossum was born Aug. 16, 1923, in Bogue Chitto, the daughter of Chester Leroy and Maude Leinda Stewart Alexander. She served for many years as a legal secretary and was court reporter for Judge Fred Berger, Judge Edwin Benoist, Judge Sonny Watson, Judge Lillie Sanders and Judge Al Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Kossum, grandson, Jared Kossum; brother, Chester L. Alexander Jr.; and sister, Opal Hathcox.
Survivors include two daughters, Leinda Peterman and Nancy Kossum, both of Natchez; two sons, Kenneth Kossum and wife, Brenda, of Friendswood, Texas and Richard Kossum and wife, Kathy, both of Natchez; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; one sister, Kathryn “Pat” Willard and husband, Henry, both of Natchez.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and other family members.
