NATCHEZ — The Natchez Police Department will be handing out pencils, papers, crayons and other school supplies to 150 lucky students Monday.
The department and the local chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police will have an annual back-to-school supplies drive from 4-6 p.m. at the police department located at 233 D’Evereux Drive.
Parents are asked to accompany their children and sign in to receive supplies, which is for students in first-12th grades.
“It’s our way of trying to give back to the community and making sure children have the necessities to get the education that they need,” Ford said.
