NATCHEZ — A Natchez man who reportedly swindled several buyers out of money for headstones was arrested Tuesday for allegedly doing the same thing again.

Adams County Sheriff Chuck Mayfield said Dwight Gibson, 46, 2119 Second St., was charged with embezzlement of property held in trust.

Mayfield said Gibson reportedly took money from people for headstones but never delivered their purchases.

Gibson was indicted in December 2012 on five counts of false pretense involving five separate victims and gravestone purchases of approximately $6,500.

Gibson is alleged to have contracted, under various monument business names, to make and install headstones, but then allegedly failed to deliver.

His business is Clear Creek Monuments.

No bond was set for Gibson as of Wednesday afternoon.
