081713 ClaraACAndrews obitpicNATCHEZ — Services for Clara Mae Champlin Andrews, 94, who died Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Morgantown Baptist Church with Dr. Edgar Wright and the Rev. Dennis Ellenburg officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 2 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church.

Mrs. Andrews was born June 5, 1919, in New Era, La., the daughter of Thomas Arnold Champlin and Mandy Alice Champlin.

She was a member of Morgantown Baptist Church and owned and operated Mae’s Cake Decorating and Supplies for 36 years. She was also a member of Morgantown Homemakers Club for 34 years.

Mrs. Andrews was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leslie Andy Andrews; one stepdaughter, Joan Freeman; and two brothers, C.C. “Boodie” Champlin and Thomas C. “Sonny” Champlin.

Survivors include one sister, Shirley Champlin Chamberlain of Natchez; two stepchildren, Marlene Hardy of Gulfport and John D. “Butch” Andrews of Pearl, La.; three step-grandchildren, Robbie Tynes, Renee Garrett, both of Gulfport, and Ricky Hardy of Diamond Head, S.C.; and a number of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members.

Pallbearers will be nephews, Tommy Champlin, Ricky Champlin, Carl Champlin, Benny Champlin, Ronny Champlin and Kyle Wilson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cookie Saucier, Victor Chamberlain Jr., Freda Champlin Williams, Sam Champlin Saucier and Kristi Chamberlain Wilson.

Memorials may be made to the Morgantown Baptist Church or to a charity of choice.
