Edna Earl “Granny” Simpson

CENTREVILLE — Funeral services for Edna Earl “Granny” Simpson, 80, of Centreville, who died Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at the Wilkinson County Health Care Center, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Newman Funeral Home with the Revs. James Saddler and Rodney Sessions officiating.
Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Centreville.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to service time Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Simpson was born Aug. 22, 1927, the daughter of Emmette Watkin and Mattie Terilla Smith Kirkland. She was a seamstress at William Carter Company, in Centreville, and she loved fishing, gardening and spending time with her family. Mrs. Simpson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lonnie T. Simpson; brothers Aubrey, Robert and Wallace Kirkland; and grandchildren Clifton Randall Simpson and April Renee Simpson.
Survivors include daughters Glenda Sessions and husband, Ronnie, of Petal, Pat Coghlan and husband, James, of Zachary, La., Barbara McDaniels and husband, Jeff, of Centreville and Gail Kimrey and husband, Ricky, of Centreville; sons Randy Simpson and wife, Christine, of Ruth and Jimmy Simpson and wife, Lori, of Centreville; sister Barbara Tessier, of Liberty; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Mathew Simpson, Ricky Simpson, Rocky McDaniels, Josh Simpson, Marlin Kimery, Roddy Sessions, Rusty McDaniels, Justin Simpson, Mickey Garig and Patrick Kimery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rhonda Gregg, Robbie Sellers, Michelle Melton, Amanda Davis, Kelly Simpson and Tesha Burt.
