FERRIDAY – Services for Altha E. Floyd, 70, of Ferriday, formerly of Natchez, who died Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, in Jackson, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Comer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Crosby officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Floyd was born April 20, 1937, in Crosby, the daughter of James H. and Hazel D. Etheridge. She retired in December 2007 after 20 years of service from Delta Bank, accounting department, in Vidalia. She was a Methodist.
Mrs. Floyd was named Amite Forestry Queen in 1953.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Jake Floyd Jr.; one son, Jake Floyd III of Ocean Springs; two daughters, Altha Belinda Klar of Crosby and Julia Fay Bertrand of Bossier City, La.; three brothers, Elwyn Etheridge of Jackson, Sonny Etheridge of Warner Robbins, Ga., and David Etheridge of Zachary, La.; five sisters, Inez Bell of Gloster, Shirley Crosby of Shreveport, La., Sandra Couvillion of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Gwen Etheridge and Carolyn Shell, both of Jackson; four grandchildren, Brian Christopher Harrell, Allison Seth, Shelby Rosales, all of Bossier City and Ron Novak of Natchez; and three great-grandchildren, Sebastian Seth, Benny Seth and Brianna Harrell.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Etheridge, Benny Bell, Willie Bell, Tommy Klar, Leland Rymer and Randy Hazlip.
