Jeanne Despujols

NATCHEZ – Services for Jeanne Melisande Despujols, of New Orleans, who died peacefully after a lengthy illness, Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2008, in New Orleans, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Episcopal Church.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Sunday at the church.
Ms. Despujols was born in Paris, France, in 1933. She was the daughter of the artist, Jean Despujols and the pianist, Millicent Despujols Martin. In 1937, the family moved to the United States, and resided in Shreveport, La.
Jeanne graduated from Byrd High School, in Shreveport, then attended Southern Methodist University, in Dallas, and Parsons School of Design in New York City.
Ms. Despujols left a legacy of love for the arts, nature and animals. She loved her family and her friends and rejoiced in life.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include three daughters, Claire Sherlock Burkley, Camille Despujols Burkley and Simone Burkley Chatelain; son-in-law, Mike Chatelain; two grandchildren, Ashlyn Nicole Chatelain and Ryan Burkley Chatelain; one brother, Jack Despujols; and three sisters, Marcella Bissonet, Paulette Johnson and Anne Gibson.
