FERRIDAY – Services for Irene Parker, 74, of Vidalia, who died Monday, March 3, 2008, atNatchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pentecostals of the Miss-Lou with Brother Gary Howington and the Rev. George Guy officiating.
Burial will follow at Oakley Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.
Mrs. Parker was born June 1, 1933, in Gilbert, La., the daughter of Ruth and Homer Hodges.
She was a home maker, worked in retail sales and was a member of the Pentecostals of the Miss-Lou.
Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Eugene “J.E.” Parker; her parents; and son, Michael Henry Parker.
Survivors include son, Gene Parker and wife, Rasty, both of Denham Springs, La.; sisters, Lillian Hayes and husband, Curt, both of Meadville and Shirley Looper of Stuttgart, Ark.; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Curtley Hayes Jr., Jonathan Landrum, George Hayes, Donnie Wilson, Jody Perrault and the Rev. Guy Looper.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Rev. Homer Looper and Chauncey Fonville.
