NATCHEZ — A storm knocked out power for 1,400-1,500 Natchez residents Friday afternoon, affecting the north side of downtown and several streets near Duncan Park.
Natchez Entergy Customer Service Manager Tim Runnels said residents were in the dark from Cathedral School to Canal Street, extending to Cemetery Road and other nearby streets.
Runnels said lightning struck a transformer near Cathedral School, causing power outages in parts of downtown.
Power was also out in most of the Duncan Park area, as well as on McNeely Road.
Crews were working to restore power Friday night.
