NATCHEZ – Services for Marvin Hunt, 88, of Natchez, who died Friday, March 7, 2008, at Adams County Nursing Home, will be at noon Thursday at Pleasant Green Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
Mr. Hunt was born Dec. 17, 1919, in Natchez, the son of Thomas Hunt and Mary Bonds Hunt. He was previously employed as a lumber grader with Rick’s Lumber, International Paper and KCS Lumber Industries. Mr. Hunt was a Baptist and a member of Pleasant Green Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Gooden Hunt; three sons, Lee Gooden and wife, Betty, Ernest Gooden and wife, Juanita, and the Rev. Samuel Hunt and wife, Edna; six daughters, Margaret Holmes, Barbara Clark, Elizabeth Scaife, Mary Gooden, Bessie Bates and husband, George, and Peggy Hutchins and husband, Ricky; one sister, Helen Hoggatt; a number of grandchildren; and other relatives and friends, all of Natchez.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
