9 people arrested in parish drug busts

VIDALIA — Nine people were arrested on drug charges — including two accused of running a marijuana growing operation — late Tuesday and early Wednesday morning by the Concordia Parish Drug Task Force.
Bionca Book, 35, 419 Louisiana 906, and Berlin Book, 38, 419 Louisiana 906, were both arrested Tuesday on charges of possession of schedule III drugs, possession of schedule I drugs with intent to distribute or cultivation, possession of drug paraphernalia and improper supervision of a minor child.
The task force received a complaint late Tuesday about drug activity in Monterey, a sheriff’s office statement said.
Bionca Book and Berlin Book reportedly voluntarily surrendered an undisclosed amount of marijuana.
Deputies found a complete marijuana row operation, including lights, ventilations system, ballasts, hydroponic chemicals, digital scales and a seed separator.
Neither suspect had been issued a bond by Wednesday afternoon.
Others booked into the Concordia Parish Jail on drug charges include:
• Richard Garcia, 23, 100 Kyle Road, Apt. D-128, Ferriday, on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, carrying weapons while in possession of a controlled and dangerous substance and improper supervision of a minor.
• Christopher O. Carmouce, 17, 184 Saucier St., Marksville, on charges of felony possession of marijuana, carrying weapons while in possession of a controlled and dangerous substance, improper supervision of a minor and flight from an officer.
• Jerimy L. Wilson, 21, 309 Smart Lane, Ferriday, on charges of felony possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Brandon A. Wilson, 28, 418 Martin Luther King Blvd., Ferriday, on charges of felony possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Jacob Perry, 19, 599 Cold Iron Road, Jonesville, on charges of a turn signal violation, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of schedule I drugs.
• Charles J. Mount, 25, 107 Dr. Gibson Road, Monterey, on charges of possession of schedule I drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond set at $31,800.
• Whitney N. Beard, 23, 162 Sunshine Lane, Jonesville, on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Christopher Sanders, 35, 136 B.B. Beard Road, Monterey, on a charge of possession of drugs paraphernalia and a probation and parole hold violation.
