NATCHEZ — Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Louise Shannon Reed, 64, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Jerusalem Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Viewing will be 9 a.m. Monday until time of services at the church.

Mrs. Reed was born Nov. 28, 1948, in Natchez, the daughter of David Lee and Lucy Shannon. She was a member of St. Jude’s Hospital, Order of the Eastern Star, was a youth Bible study teacher and a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Mother Board and president of the Missionary Society. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, the Rev. Arthur A. Reed; one sister, Racheal Shannon; and three brothers, David Shannon, Fredrick Shannon and Edward Shannon.

Survivors include one daughter, Supremia Scott and husband, Stanley; one son, Deon M. Shannon and wife, Sandra; four sisters, Shirley Shannon, Geraldine Fortune, Alma Shannon Jackson and Linda Prater; two brothers, Robert Shannon and wife, Jeanette, and Cedric Shannon; two granddaughters, Arielle Shannon and Raven Mcleod; five grandsons, Michael Mcleod, Jeremy Mcleod, Jerel Shannon, Stanton Tyrell Scott and Shakkeal Mcleod; three great-grandchildren; six nieces; eight nephews; three children she reared as her own, Frankie Morris, Franklin Shannon and Bridges Shannon; and a number of other relatives and friends.
