GLOSTER — Services for Nelda Faye Bateman, 72, a longtime resident of the Oxford community near Gloster, who died Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Zach Smith and Stacy McCullum officiating.

Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Home in Gloster.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from noon until service time Sunday, both at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bateman was born Feb. 8, 1941, in Mangham, La., the daughter of Chester Southern and Ruby Fortenberry Southern.

She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.

Mrs. Bateman was preceded in death by one brother, R.C. Southern and three sisters, Maxine Bergeron, Doris Havard and Janice Southern.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Bateman; two daughters, Janet Touchstone and husband, Greg, of Tylertown and Jill Leggett of Gloster; seven grandchildren, Brenda Jones and husband, Michael Jr., and Colten Loggett, all of Gloster, Lila Touchstone, Grant Touchstone, Haley Touchstone, Thomas Touchstone and Jonathan Touchstone, all of Tylertown; and one sister, Dorothy Rowlin of Lake St. John.
