NATCHEZ — Taste culinary treats galore at a variety of events during the annual Natchez Food & Wine Fest, celebrate the Minorville community with fun for the whole family and support two good causes this weekend.
Expect bright sunshine and temperatures in the low 90s tomorrow, but the chance of thunderstorms will increase through Sunday.
Natchez Food & Wine Fest
Foodies rejoice — the annual Food & Wine Festival offers a cornucopia of events celebrating the culinary world. Here are two of many events planned:
• “Tastings Along the River” will feature dozens of acclaimed chefs and regional vendors. Brew masters and wine and beverage brokers will be showcased along with more specialty items. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Natchez Convention Center.
• Taste the special menus of visiting chefs during “An Invitation to the Natchez Table.” Choose one of the five historic houses hosting the chefs to dine on appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts. The dinners begin at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Other events on Saturday include knife skills with Chef David Leathers, Brunch & Blues, cooking demonstrations with Chef Tom Ramsey, a wine and cheese tasting, craft beer tasting and lecture, “The Perfect Table” featuring John Grady Burns, “Burgers, Blues, Brews and Bocce,” and a champagne jazz brunch on Sunday.

Mae and Friends 6th Annual Lemonade Stand
Stop by the Natchez Convention Center tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to cool off with lemonade and home baked sweets at Mae and Friends’ Lemonade Stand.
Mae Holyoak and her friends have sold lemonade annually since they were 5 years old. All proceeds go to the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society Shelter. T-shirts will be for sale.
Minorville’s 22nd annual Jubilee
The Minorville community will have its annual Jubilee this Saturday.
Jubilee Chairman Felicia Irving said the event celebrates the wholesomeness of Minorville.
“We have this event to bring unity into the community,” Irving said.
The day will begin with a gospel concert at Macedonia Baptist Church from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Afterward, a variety of activities for participants will be available on Minor Street. Food vendors will sell snow cones, hamburgers, hot dogs, candy apples and more.
Face painting, blood pressure checks from Alcorn nursing students and voter registration will be included in the event. Natchez High Cheerleaders will be on hand to share their cheers. The music group Bratz will perform from 4 to 7 p.m.
“Characters For a Cure” Character Breakfast
Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Buzz Lightyear, Woody and more of their cartoon friends will be chowing down on breakfast for a good cause Saturday.
The “Characters for a Cure” breakfast will be at First Baptist Church on North Hickory Street in Vidalia and will benefit the church’s Relay for Life team.
The breakfast will also feature Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Peter Pan, Tinkerbell and Disney princesses.
The breakfast is at 10 a.m., and tickets are $15.
