FERRIDAY — Services for Samuel Brown III, 65, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Mount Beulah Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Alfred Loston officiating.

Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Brown was born Sept. 14, 1947, in Ferriday, the son of Samuel and Yvonne Washington Brown.

Mr. Brown served in the U.S. Army. He was Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include one son, Samuel Bridges and wife, Lyntaya, of New Orleans; one stepson, Farron Lewis; one daughter, Shelrecker Hargrave and husband, Robert, of Ferriday; four brothers, Johnnie Brown Sr. of Ferriday, U.L. Brown of Atlanta, Donnell Brown and wife, Alba, of San Antonio, Texas and Anthony Brown and wife, Brigida, of Baton Rouge; three sisters, Ophelia Moore and husband, Jimmy, of Portland, Ore., Eunice Jackson and husband, Lawrence, and Paulette Brown Warner, all of New Orleans; four grandchildren; one aunt, Ethel Batiste and husband, Jeff, of San Mateo, Calif.; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
