NATCHEZ – Services for Robert Kirk Matthews, 63, of Natchez, who died Monday, April 14, 2008, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Covington Road Church of Christ with Brother Coleman Allmond officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8:30 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mr. Matthews was born Dec. 23, 1944, in Natchez, the son of Henry H. and Annie L. Smith Matthews. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include one son, Shannon Kirk Matthews; one daughter, Teather S. Brooks, both of Natchez; one brother, Glenn Matthews of Zachary, La.; four sisters, Ann Watkins of Gonzales, La., Rena Matthews and Betty McChesney, both of Zachary, and Pam Switzer-Dantin of Palestine, Texas; and six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Brandon and Justin Switzer, Patrick McChesney, Eddie Bennett, Anthony Mulvihill and Ken Porter.
